16th June, International Affairs of Guangzhou Modern Hospital has organized a photography contest entitled“Frame the beautiful moment”in hospital. The photography contest was participated by every staff in the hospital including staff from consultation office at overseas.
The prizes were given according to the criteria based on the meaning bring by the photo, visualization and technique used by the photographer. One grand prize, one second prize and two third prizes were selected by a fair and secret ballot method. He LangBin, Director of International Affairs from Guangzhou Modern Hospital awards the winner respectively .
rand prize titled as “How are you after 7 years?”. This works describing an Indonesia patient Hassan’s aunt who had companion Hassan undergone cancer treatment and regains a new life 7 years ago under the care of Doctor Lin and the tumor has not seen recurrence and metastasis in these 7 years. After 7 years, Hassan’s aunt accompanied a friend to visit Guangzhou Modern Hospital. When she met Dr. Lin in the hospital, the memories of those days she companioned Hassan undergone treatment back in her mind. Hassan's aunt gave Dr. Lin an affectionate hug as gratitude for healed Hassan’s cancer. She mentioned that Hassan and her family are so grateful to Dr. Lin who helps Hassan regain a new life.

Second prize titled as “water feeding”. This works captured a touching moment. Patient Ms. Zu was admitted into ICU, due to her family are not by her side, her translator from hospital take the responsibility to take care of her like a family, and using a straw to feed her water. Under the encouragement and care from the translator, the patient behaves obediently like a child.

Third prize - “Hi, Little Na Na”. A one and a half years old toddler who came from Thailand admitted to Guangzhou Modern Hospital due to eye cancer. She gazed at Doctor Wong curiously with her round and adorable eyes every time when he comes to her room for the check-up. Thus, Doctor Wong play with little Na Na with his Stethoscope like a father.

Third prize -“Birthday wishes”. This photo is about the birthday celebration of a breast cancer patient from Thailand. After undergone treatment, her breast tumor has been totally disappeared without breast resection. Under the preparation of the nurses, AuTong wishes in front of the cake hope that her cancer will not recurrence.

The photography contest was held in March this year for a duration of 3 months. The purpose of the campaign is to capture the moment of “beautiful of human nature, heartwarming, humanism”, "dedication and the medical ethics" in the hospital by using a camera or mobile phone. The activity has increased the staff impression on the interaction between doctor and patient, and result in higher productivity and higher enthusiasm in their daily work.
