St Stamford’s - Community Outreach Program at Lianquan Road Neighborhood

To thoroughly implement the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases in Tianhe District, Guangzhou, St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital called for a Medical Outreach Program, wherein "Practicing Medical Ethics, Providing Services, Benefiting People’s Livelihood" as the theme of the event, by extending their medical services wholeheartedly to the grassroots communities.

The said Medical Outreach Program was organized by Lianquan Neighborhood Committee and St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital, led by Chinese medicine physician Zhao Zhigang together with other 6 medical professionals, who extended their professional services to the Community last April 20, 2017.

The outreach program has provided the community for free blood pressure and free blood glucose check, free health checkup and counseling. They also distributed manuals on promoting health awareness, prevention and treatment on chronic diseases.

Aside from sharing lectures on how Spring Season may trigger chronic diseases and ways on disease management, Zhao Zhigang, MD. is also very patient in responding to each and every health care concerns asked by the community people. The community actively participated and aggressively engaged in the discussion on the daily rehabilitation, prevention and treatments on chronic diseases. After the consultation and with the help and encouragement of the medical professionals, the whole community seemed to be fully determined to fight against chronic diseases.

It is understood that as the spring season comes and may triggers disease outbreaks, St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital has recently organized several medical mission programs on different areas of community. Such medical outreach programs are implemented not only for the welfare of the people in the community but to strengthen the medical ethics and to increase the motivation of the medical staffs of St. Stamford.
